Beauty and Art

Filed under: About Life & Everything, English, Living in Vancouver, BC, News & Bolts — Lucian Savluc @ 1:18 pm

I wish to share with you some beautiful images..

A few weeks ago I updated the website which I built two years ago for one of my clients; it’s about Chris Haylett, who is a well known photographer here in Vancouver but also in North America. He is shooting photos for magazines like Vogue, The Los Angeles Times, Stature, Afficianado, Ion, Nuvo, Essential, and other big clients.

But most of all, Chris is an artist and one of the best photographers I personally know.
It was a pleasure to build his website and I learned more about photography in this way than reading a specialty book.

These pictures speak for him, no more words..

The greatest achievement this year

I have the pleasure to announce that full Romanian version of eLiberatica website is now online.

The most important thing is that we announced the speakers who will present at eLiberatica. And we wish to highlight only a few names here: Rasmus Lerdorf, Monty Widenius, Brian Behlendorf and Zak Greant.

For the whole list you can check http://eliberatica.ro/2007/eliberatica-conferentiari-si-evenimente .

Right now we are working intensively on the English version of the website, which will estimate are going to be online at the beginning of January.

This is a great achievement, and I wish to say thank you to all the people helped this; and they are listed under Credits section on eLiberatica.

Parties, digital identities and other stuff

Filed under: English, Living in Vancouver, BC, News & Bolts — Lucian Savluc @ 6:32 pm

sxipperLas week I was invited by Sxip, one my former employees, to attend a “pre-launch” party at their new headquarters located in Yaletown.
First of all, I was very happy to meet my former colleagues there; I remembered the old times when I worked with one of the best teem in my career. On the other hand, for me Sxip was the first company here in Canada where I was exposed to Open Source concepts and technologies.

Now, back to the party: it was presented their last creation named Sxipper.
On short, Sxipper is an identity management tool which will do login and registration process easier and more secure by storing your contact information and passwords into pre-mapped forms and fields that support different level of encryption, making practically impossible to break into it. This little tool will cam like an add-on for Firefox and will have a free version and also a commercial version. More details where presented, but they asked us to avoid revealing more information until they will release it.
If this sounds interesting for you, keep an eye on the sxipper.com, soon they will launch the website and the Sxipper tool.

The party was fun and interesting; like usual Lori Pike and the rest of the team where perfect guests for everybody. We have beers, hot-dogs, appetizers and all the stuff, together. On top of this, I met new and interesting people there. I even presented to Dick - the company owner - our future ROSI event, eLiberatica ;) .

Vancouverul sub zapada

Filed under: About Life & Everything, Living in Vancouver, BC, Romanian — Lucian Savluc @ 6:47 pm

In Vancouver ninge foarte rar spre deosebire de restul Canadei.
