I learned a shocked news: Florian Pittiş, one of the last rare Romanian true musicians and art people, a great man of spirit, has died a few days ago at the age of only 63. He influenced my high school and student life and other generations of people. He is living a big empty space who will be hardly fill by somebody else..Why almost every time, the best are leaving us too soon?…
Rest in pace Florian. Thank you for all what you gave us.

Tot incercand sa promovez “Les Trophées du Libre” in Romania am aflat de un alt eveniment similar, de data aceasta in tara la noi.
Este vorba despre Concursul National Studentesc “Best Linux Application 2007″ .
Cum am alfat? Dan Mutescu, un vajnic suporter si membru ROSI mi l-a scos in evidenta. E prima data cand aud de el - si pot sa spun ca totusi incerc sa ma tin la curent cu evenimentele FLOSS din tara 
Problema este ca, asa cum am remarcat si la eLiberatica anul acesta, publicul larg afla foarte greu sau deloc despre ele. Ce sa mai spunem despre comunitatea mondiala FLOSS..
Trebuie neaparat sa ne promovam evenimentele de acest gen dar din pacate stirile acestea circula mai mult underground si pe forumurile de specialitate (aici ma refer in special la cele referitoare la Linux).
ROSI si-a propus acest lucru si nu am uitat, lucram la portal si speram sa il putem lansa anul acesta. O sectiune speciala a sitului va incerca sa cuprinda toate organizatiile, evenimentele si comunitatile romanesti ce au de a face cu fenomenul Free Software si Open Source.
Cand vom termina, lumea va fi surprinsa sa afle ca de fapt lucrurile se misca si la noi nu numai in alte parti.
Georg Greve, the FSFE president (some of you met him this year; he had one of the best keynote presentation at eLiberatica) pointed to me a very interesting project and asked if we can help spreading the word in Romania.

I strongly encourage everybody who knows people or organizations in Romania suitable to participate at this competition to point them to this event. Also perhaps some articles in media would help.
This would be a chance to make ourselves known in the world of FLOSS.
